There's some handy new New York street signage in town, as caught by NYC the Blog: A navigational compass awaits your feet as you exit the NRW at Prince Street (we hear there's one at the uptown 6 at Bleecker, too). With any luck, these will soon be everywhere, and we'll have to ditch our "totally walked 5 blocks in the wrong direction" excuse for being late.
