This Bites: Called for Bedbugs, City Shuts Astoria Apt. Bldg.

A resident of 8-29 Astoria Boulevard complained of bedbugs, but when inspectors arrived they found more amiss, and now the Department of Buildings is shutting the apartment complex down, reports WCBS. Turns out the place lacks fire escapes, sprinklers, and smoke alarms, and ABC adds that all 15 apartments have jerry-rigged gas and electric connections. No word as to whether they also found bedbugs.
