Times Folds Tribune into New "Global" Edition
Back in October the New York Times took its International Herald Tribune property offline. Now the IHT has been repurposed as the Times' global edition, to which IHT readers are automatically redirected, and between which and the regular Times edition readers are free to choose. Gawker thinks the Times handled this badly in terms of its search engine presence; MediaFile examines the advertising case for the move. We are glad to see the Tribune's considerable global reporting resources given a new high profile, and plan to enjoy them until newspapers are a thing of the past and we get all our "news" from internet screamers circulating Vice-Presidential daughter cocaine videos.
