Two Bronx 6 Line Stations Out; F and G to Skip Some Stops in Brooklyn on Weekends
While it's sorting out its considerable financial difficulties, the MTA is doing some repair work, and limiting service in consequence. The Morrison Avenue and Whitlock Avenue stations on the 6 line closed down today so workers can fix them up. Riders are encouraged to take the Bx4 bus to nearby stations. The stations should be back in service sometime in September; the Parkchester, St. Lawrence and Elder Avenue stops are also slated for repair closings soon.
Meanwhile the F and G lines won't run between Jay Street and Church Avenue on "intermittent" weekends from now till next January, due to work on a viaduct near the Smith-9th Street station. February 20-22 and February 27-March 1 will be the first such weekends; affected riders will be provided with shuttle bus service.
