Two Local Races Still Undecided
A week ago we told you that two local races -- Eric Massa vs. Randy Kuhl for an upstate House seat, and Frank Padavan vs. James Gennaro for a Queens State Senate seat -- were too close to call. Well, they still are. Eric Massa just went to Washington to hang with David Paterson and act Congressional, but absentee ballots remain uncounted and Kuhl hasn't conceded. And, the Times today reports, "more than 8,000 absentee and other emergency paper ballots" are still being counted in Forest Hills. Incumbent Republican Padavan continues to perform his duties, sounding off in favor of banning the bar game Moxie Mania in New York. Democrats complain his people are trying to throw out affidavit ballots "with names that they assume are African-American, Latino or Asian."
