Wayne Kramer, Handsome Dick to Play Sing-Sing
If you like Johnny Cash at San Quentin, you'll love Wayne Kramer at Sing Sing. The legendary MC5 guitarist, who did two years at Lexington for pushing coke, is working with addict outreach group Road Recovery, and after doing a benefit concert for them at the Nokia Theatre on May 1, he'll go the next day to the Ossining facility and lead a discussion group with prisoners before hitting the stage with Billy Bragg, Perry Farrell, Tom Morello, Don Was, New York's own Handsome Dick Manitoba and others for what is billed as a "full electric performance." (2007 interview with Kramer here.)
