Woman Purchases World's Cheapest Wedding Dress, Might Give It to You

As a teenager we used to play this game at the mall called "ugly dress up," in which we dressed up in the most hideous clothing we could find, which was pretty easy, given that we were at a suburban mall and it was the '90s. This is only to say that we fully understand the adult woman who goes out on rainy New York City afternoons when her college friend is in town so they can try on formal gowns together. It was during such a trip that they found a wedding dress. Which, somehow, cost $0.01.

This woman, who is a dating coach and blogger named Yue, tried it on, vowing to purchase it if it really cost a penny. It looked great, and somehow it was. As she writes on her blog, Singlefied:

After much debate, a manager shows up, susses out the situation, and deliberates, "This was a price discrepancy and should have never been on the floor, however a customer caught it before an employee did, so per policy, we have to honor the price."

So she gets the dress, which normally should have been $275 (also cheap for a wedding dress, FWIW) and, being single, now she wants to give it away to you, if you are getting married, and if you have a good story to share. She says,

Contact me (below) and tell me your story by 10/1/11, and I will choose one person to ship the dress to.

Dress deets: Jessica McClintock Bridal poly satin bustier gown with a sweetheart neckline, princess seams and bubble skirt. Size 4. Retail price: $275. It's beautiful, classic and flattering.
