Woman Steals Purse in Church, in Front of God and Everyone (Video)
There are those who steal, which is bad, and then there are those who steal in church, which is sort of like thumbing your nose directly in the face of God or at least sticking out your tongue and crossing your eyes and shouting "Nana-nana boo-boo" really obnoxiously. This woman went there, taking a churchgoer's bag from a pew at the Immaculate Conception Church at 414 East 14th Street on August 16.
The police have released surveillance video and are asking for the public's help identifying a heavyset black woman who was wearing a blue T-shirt and gray tights and carrying a green purse at the time.
If you have any info, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). And if you're religious-minded, maybe give a shout-out to the big guy upstairs for this lady, who could probably use a few prayers coming her way. Confess, my child.
