WTC Charity Thief Sentenced to Six Months in the Slammer
The Daily News reports that 26-year-old Emmanuel Reyes, the former assistant manager at the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, was sentenced to six months in prison yesterday for stealing $12,700 from the charity (supposedly to "repay a loan he took from a neighborhood thug to cover his mother's funeral expenses"). Which, if not for the "I did it for my mother" part, would make him almost as scummy as those guys who took $42 million from a Holocaust relief fund. [SH]
