Yeah, yeah, I know, good little anti-rockists are never supposed to act like music way back when was better than music is now. But what if the music back then pulled off a sound that good little anti-rockist bands from Williamsburg to Providence to Hamtramck have spent the past half-decade falling on their faux-hawks and cokespoons shooting for? And what if most of the music didn't make itself known until now, anyway? (Which is to say what if I leave out all those wonderful recent reissues of Brian Eno, Heart, Kansas, Nektar, Swell Maps, and Yes albums that had never quite disappeared in the first place?)
