For all of the recent sturm und drang touting the decline of music industry, beacons of hope are emerging. A bright one is the creation of the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair. In the past, the flea market held its Superstar DJ Record Fair only in the fall, but demand for a second one was so high that organizers have renamed it and made it a semiannual event, beginning today. Best of all, the majority of vendors are local. Venues Knitting Factory and Cake Shop will host tables near clerks from Other Music, who, in turn, will be bumping elbows with folks at record-label booths belonging to Temporary Residence and DFA, among others.
