Just when we thought football was over for New York, our favorite gridiron venue, Yankee Stadium, hosts Notre Dame and Rutgers for the Pinstripe Bowl. The Irish, who were 8-4 this season, have a long history of playing in Yankee Stadium with an overall record of 16-6-3 in the Bronx. They beat Army 12-6 at the original Yankee Stadium in a game made famous by coach Knute Rockne’s “win one for the Gipper” speech. This will be the second Yankee Stadium appearance for the 6-6 Scarlet Knights, who won the George M. Steinbrenner Trophy in 2011 against Iowa State.
