Only one final test remains - introducing her family to the church board for the seal of approval.
Now, she must face the truth about her nonconformist family that she has been glossing over for years. With her lesbian daughter (Emily Deschanel) about to marry her life partner, her unhappily married son (Jason Ritter) having an affair with the local manicurist, and her own marriage pulling at the seams, Eileen ramps up her meddling to hilarious new heights. As she does, she begins to question what truly makes a family perfect: how it looks from the outside, or how it feels on the inside?

But it’s a show with a difference: We’re asking New Yorkers to write down the great stuff they see and hear on the streets of New York, at NewYorkWritesItself.com. From this’ Script’, The Chairman (starring New York actor Kevin Conway) will present the best stories from his yellow chair located on different corners of the city. If you’re a New Yorker, you’ve probably witnessed a few crazy things today already. Take a moment to write them down at NewYorkWritesItself.com, and your stories could live on through The Chairman or other upcoming creative productions - like an Off-Broadway theatre production from Village Voice and New York Writes Itself this June.
Check out The Chairman trailer and add to the script here.
