Promoter Daniel Nardicio is once again presenting a series of acts at Cherry Grove's Ice Palace this summer, and one of the more eye-popping of the bunch involves Justin Vivian Bond and Broadway legend Carol Channing as bosom buddies.
And what will Carol do, pray tell, at the August 24th happening? ... More >>
"I think this is the only time a show from Cherry Grove, Fire Island has transferred to Broadway!" cracked Alan Cumming at Town Hall last night.
Last summer, he and Liza Minnelli did a joint show on the Island, and it was the buzzy event of the season, effectively turning two Fosse-handed Cabaret s ... More >>
Last year in Cherry Grove, Daniel Nardicio presented Alan Cumming and special guest Liza Minnelli in concert, and it became the buzzy event of the whole gay summer.
Those two were pretty delectable together. (And there was that Cabaret connection, so seeing them do a cabaret act made "duh" kind of ... More >>
This past summer, Liza Minnelli made a sensation by appearing as a guest star for Alan Cumming at a couple of shows at Cherry Grove's Ice Palace, produced by Daniel Nardicio.
The gays of a certain age hadn't been so stimulated since Liza's mama played Carnegie Hall.
And that wasn't the last excite ... More >>
Yesterday, I told you about the illustrious Mr Nude Belvedere pageant held at Daniel Nardicio's Spartacus bash at the Belvedere Guest House in Cherry Grove.
It was everything Miss America should be.
Well, below is the photo of the fablous trilogy of finalists.
The stunning Yuhua Hamasaki (above) won the coveted Miss Fire Island prize at the Ice Palace the other day, even though her first name sounds like an accusation.
Sultry Monica Storm copped Ms. Fire Island (for older, larger gals), Dallas DuBois was named Miss Cherry Grove, and Holly Dae won Enterta ... More >>
Summer's last gasp was an eye popping one at Cherry Grove's Belvedere Guest House--that sumptuous white palace of refinement and strewn condoms--where I cohosted Daniel Nardicio's Spartacus bash on Saturday.

While performing with Liza Minnelli in Cherry Grove the other night, The Good Wife's Alan Cumming proved he has a very good husband.
He told the crowd about the time he innocently hung out with pop star Mika and found that paparazzi swarmed the car they were in, obviously up to no good.
As I wrote, Liza Minnelli just performed at Cherry Grove's Ice Palace, and the whole town was buzzing with excitement, including other island guests like Wanda Sykes and Neil Sedaka.
And I got some glimmers of insight into Liza.
Someone who had dinner with her on the island told me:

Every year, a boat full of gussied-up drag queens cruises from Fire Island's Cherry Grove into the harbor of the Pines as an annual protest of the time Grove drag queens were denied drinks at the Pines' Blue Whale because they weren't "real women."
This is sort of like Stonewall in reverse--we're c ... More >>
I just wrote about the possibility that much of the commercial real estate in the Fire Island Pines may be for sale, included the recently burned-down Pavilion club, which one blogger said was a mere sand lot at this point.
But that was then.
Check out my oozily refreshing column in which I describe the latest sin-sational action in familiar summer getaways from Cherry Grove to Bridgehampton to the North Fork to my beloved apartment.
They're all swarming, expensive, and positively broiling, but lots of fun--including my beloved a ... More >>
