For some time now, I've spotted her on NY1, doing a smash-up job with the news, and wondering, "Where do I know that name from?"
And I've finally figured it out!
Vivian Lee was the female lead in the film classic Gone With The Wind!
She played Scarlett Johansson or something.
Who cares about the men? They always wear suits or sweaty T-shirts.
But from the beginning of cinema, Hollywood's ladies have gotten swathed and feathered and dressed and undressed in ways that have made the fashion world rock with diversity and delight.
My 10 all-time fave looks are:
*Joan Crawford had a lifelong sexual crush on her arch rival Bette Davis and once tried to seduce Marilyn Monroe, which promptly ended their friendship.
*Bette Davis turned down Mildred Pierce, which turned out to be Crawford's Oscar role, jumpstarting her faded career.
In fact, that should be prohibited by law!
After the two hour mark, even the greatest triumph of cinema (save for Gone With The Wind) begins to grate on your nerves like a party date who won't shut up.
I mean, did The Karate Kid really have to weigh in at 2 hours and freakin' 20 minutes?
