I thought Seth MacFarlane was pretty funny as the Oscar host--he made Tommy Lee Jones laugh, for God's sake--even if some of the jokes didn't land, or at least not safely. But a liberal thinkprogress.com review found him utterly childish and unredeembale.

"Relationships are complicated," she wrote in the midst of a stern rebuke of MacFarlane's Chris Brown/Rhianna joke, "and it ... More >>
The recent Golden Globes telecast was so rivetingly entertaining that the Oscars need to do exactly what they did in order to approach watchability on February 24. It's late in the day and you still haven't gotten him anything, and you don't know what to get him? Funny you should ask. We've got a few decent ideas ... More >>
Keeping to her program, Fix commentator Sarah Palin used Facebook again today to complain of a joke on the Fox cartoon Family Guy, in which son Chris dates a well-spoken but fussy young woman with Down Syndrome who reveals her mother to be "the former governor of Alaska." For variety, Palin enli ... More >>
