5 Napkin Burger May Expand to East 14th Street
The inexorable burger proliferation continues, this time thanks to 5 Napkin Burger. Per DNA Info, the chainlet, which already has three locations across the city, may be taking over the corner space at 14th Street and Third Avenue previously occupied by Robin Raj, a discount deli and drugstore.
5 Napkin's owners won liquor-license approval at the last Community Board 3 meeting, where they handed out a 5 Napkin menu as part of their application. But the menu may have been a MacGuffin: Reps for the company, which also owns French Roast and Nizza, wouldn't confirm that they'll be opening a 5 Napkin, and described the concept as a "French-themed restaurant that will serve burgers and shakes." Nothing says France like a milkshake, but if they put 5 Napkin's veggie burger on the menu, we won't complain.
