Asiadog Coming to Kenmare Street, Wilfie & Nell Team to the Bowery

CB2 had its SLA licensing meeting last night, and the agenda contained a few notable developments.

According to Eater, which attended the meeting, Asiadog, the wiener purveyors who gained a big following at the Brooklyn Flea, will be opening a tiny storefront at 66 Kenmare in a few weeks.

Kenmare Street got a lot of action last night: The owners of Toby's Public House in Brooklyn appeared to make their bid to open a "comfortable bar" in the former Village Tart space, but met with vociferous resistance from residents of the building, which also houses the Kenmare. On a similar note, the owner of Ten Degrees, a bar on St. Marks Place, also drew community opposition for its plans to open another bar at 60-64 Kenmare.

The owners of the West Village's Wilfie & Nell did find approval for Wren, the 197-seat restaurant they're planning to open in the former Sala space on Bowery and Great Jones Street. According to Grub Street, it will be a gastropub. And much to the delight of Steve Cuozzo, it won't have a DJ.
