Because Bulldogs Can't Find Truffles in Tompkins Square Park
Since he found no luck truffle-hunting with a bulldog in Tompkins Square Park (obviously), Frank Prisinzano planned a do-over in Piedmont -- with a trained truffle hound.
Prisinzano, the restaurateur and meatball-slinging chef behind the downtown Italian restaurants Frank, Lil' Frankie's, Supper, and Sauce, is currently raising money on Mobcaster for his TV show. Sauce'd will explore regional Italian ingredients, traditions, and techniques, and turn Prisinzano's annual research trips to Italy into his own brand of eccentric food TV.
Here's a teaser:
Brake Through Media shot and produced the first six episodes, which will begin to roll out next week on the Sauce website, an "aspiring food-centric network." If Prisinzano can meet his $28,000 goal, season two will have six to nine episodes.
Does the host seems like the kind of guy you'd like to chat with over a few Negronis? A Mobcaster donation of $50 will support the project and buy you an Italian-style cocktail hour with snacks. For a seat at the chef's annual white truffle tasting, a far heftier donation of $5,000 is required.
