Hot Glass Cold Beer, Brooklyn Glass, 142 13th Street, Brooklyn, Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m.
The marriage of beer and glass is a time honored tradition, which is why this art studio fundraiser promises to both teach and reward attendees.
For $20, guests receive a  handmade drinking glass which they can then use for bottomless beverages. A team of glassblowers - as well as neon and flame artisans - will provide demonstrations throughout the evening. Tickets will be available at the door on a first come, first served basis, but guaranteed admission can be bought in advance here.

Lower East Side Cider Festival, Orchard Street, Sunday, 12 to 4 p.m.
Though most Cider Week activities are designed for those 21 years of age and up, this weekend provides a family fun festival for everyone to enjoy. Cider makers and apple farmers from across New York State will be pouring samples of their hard earned labor, while restaurants including Mission Cantina and Huertas will offer sausage and grilled cheese for pairing purposes. Guests can also partake in a homemade apple pie contest (see here for details), a caramel apple station, and an apple tasting booth. A full line up of Cider Week events, which run throughout the weekend and up until November 15, can be viewed here.

Godiva Grand Opening Giveaway, Macy's, 151 West 34 Street; 6th Floor, Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m.
Dodge the stress of shopping with a complimentary chocolate-dipped strawberry at Godiva's grand opening at Macy's Herald Square. The first 250 guests who make their way up to the sixth floor shop will receive a complimentary chocolate dipped strawberry. There will also be a demonstration by Godiva's executive chef and chocolatier Thierry Muret.
