Best Weekend Food Events: Korean French Dip, Smorgasburg, and Craft Distillers

Korean French Dip Special

Dominique Ansel and Deuki Hong of Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong are serving a Korean French Dip sandwich throughout the weekend. The sandwich features a slow-roasted prime rib with kimchi marmalade served on soft potato bread with two kinds of jus (choose from shiitake mushroom or spicy serrano kalbi). The collaborative sandwich will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Service starts at 6 p.m. on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
New York's most popular outdoor food festival returns this weekend! Smorgasburg will be at the Williamsburg waterfront on Saturday and at Prospect Park on Sunday. New additions this year include skewered meat and fondue from Yakitori Tatsu, egg cream and cookies from Rubyzaar, and fried quail eggs on a stick from Brunchstreet.
NYC Craft Distillers Festival
Bowery Hotel (335 Bowery)
Saturday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Relive the Roaring Twenties at this craft spirit tasting. Over 60 varieties of spirits — think everything from moonshine to pear brandy — will be available, and guests are encouraged to break out their pinstriped suits and cloche hats. The festival also includes offerings like honey whiskey from the Catskills and Old Tom Gin from Astoria Distilling Co. Tickets start at $95. Reserve them here.
Cocktail and Dog Throwdown
Mess Hall (2194 Frederick Douglass Boulevard)
Saturday, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Taste more than a dozen cocktails and six unique hot dogs at this delicious competition. The drink and dog with the highest votes will earn a spot on Mess Hall's menu starting on April 15. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Reserve them here.
