Best Weekend Food Events: 'TMNT' Pizza Party, CoffeeCon, and Iron Station's Anniversary

Friday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
In honor of the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, Sprayground is hooking up costumed fans with free pizza courtesy of Joe's. Fans who are dressed like their favorite turtle will also receive free tickets to see the movie, as well as photos and backpacks.
Industry City (233 37th Street Brooklyn, Brooklyn)
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Brush up on your coffee knowledge at this daylong festival, which includes up to twenty different classes and samples. Guests can participate in brewing labs as well as check out a pop-up museum dedicated to Chemex with additional seminars on cold brewing and steampunk techniques. Tickets start at $23. Iron Station (683 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn)
Saturday, 12 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Sip a brew and try out new menu items at Iron Station's one-year anniversary. Goods include Free Will Brewery’s offerings on tap, the new menu (which focuses on cheeses, charcuterie, and small plates) along with Iron Station’s usual cocktail, wine, and beer selection. DJ Bill Coleman will begin spinning tunes at 9 p.m.
Threes Brewing (333 Douglass Street, Brooklyn)
Sunday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Rain or shine, guests can enjoy cold beer and crack open crawfish, with seatings taking place every two hours beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 5 p.m. All food will be provided courtesy of Gaddy Lane. Tickets are $30 and include a bucket of crawfish, one side dish, and one pint of beer. Reserve your spot here.
Studio Squared — Palatable: Food and Contemporary Art
The Studio Museum in Harlem (144 West 125th Street)
Sunday, 2 p.m.
Combine food and art at this cooking demonstration, which includes artists Miguel Luciano and Tijay Mohammed discussing their inspirational connections to food culture. Guests will learn to prepare two of the artists' favorite recipes using plantains as a featured ingredient. Admission is free, but reserve your spot here.
