Bonus Event: Celebrate David Bowie, the "Champagne of Pop Music"
Earlier this morning, we offered up a number of ways for you to beat the stir crazies and get out of the house this week. But another event just fluttered into our inboxes, and if you're a David Bowie fan, you're going to want to put a big old box around Wednesday: that's when the Murray Hill outpost of Terroir (439 Third Avenue, 212-481-1920) will celebrate the glam rock titan's birthday with an event dubbed Bubbles and Bowie.
What is the connection between a wine bar and Ziggy Stardust? According to owners Paul Grieco and Marco Canora, "David Bowie is the Champagne of pop music." This is obviously because he is full of effervescence, is a timeless classic, and goes straight to your head.
At any rate, festivities include specials on Champagne by the glass and the bottle, Bowie trivia, and Bowie music all night long. Oh, and a costume contest -- you'll find face paint at the bar.
The party runs from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. on January 8.
