Brooklyn Pour Is Two Weeks Away--More Breweries and Food Announced
Last year's Brooklyn Pour
Laura June Kirsch
We're less than two weeks out from the Brooklyn Pour craft beer festival, which descends on Skylight One Hanson (1 Hanson Place, 718-783-5437) in Fort Greene October 12. Our VIP tickets are sold out--but there are a few more general admission slots available, and today brings more info that should tempt you into securing one.
But first, what we've already told you: In addition to a roster of 66 breweries--which will pour hundreds of different craft beers, including some special rare one-offs--the festival will feature beer talks from beer gurus like 508 Gastrobrewery's Chris Cuzme and UnTappd co-founder Greg Avola. DJ sets from Marissa Paternoster (Screaming Females and Noun) and Joe Steinhardt (co-founder of Don Giovanni Records and guitarist for Modern Hut) fill out the bill of entertainment.
Now for the new deets: We've brought on several more breweries, the likes of which include Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Brasseries Pietra/Jenlain, Breckenridge Brewery, Crabbie's Ginger Beer, Moa Brewing Company, Moonlight Meadery, Samuel Adams, Staropramen Brewery, and Traveler Beer Company.
We've also learned about some of the rare beers you should be seeking--Barrier Brewing Company will pour its SaazSquash butternut squash ale, Three Heads Brewery will be showcasing the Rochestafarian Wee Heavy brew, Steadfast brings a pair of gluten-free beers (Steadfast Sorghum Pale Ale and Steadfast Golden Blonde Ale, and Moonlight Meadery will roll in with a selection of meade flavors that range from dry blueberry to wildflower.
And then there'll be food. Pop into the vault level at the event, where you'll be able to purchase snacks from the Brooklyn Pour Food Court vendors. Highlights include Jarlsberg Cheese & Mrs. Dorsey's Kitchen's grilled cheese sandwiches, El Viejo Yayo's mini Cuban sandwiches, Carino Mexican Cantina, and Los Perros Locos' hot dogs.
