Celebrate Negronis and Mezcal and Eat Italian Doughnuts This Week in NYC

It may be rosé season, but that doesn't mean you can't switch up your spring indulgences this week. Here are five events where you can tease your taste buds with something new.
Negroni Week, multiple locations, Monday
Looking for inspiration to drink up that bottle of Campari you've been saving? A worldwide celebration of the negroni cocktail kicks off Monday and runs through June 7. Over 80 participating New York City bars and restaurants are crafting unique takes on the time-tested recipe. A few options are a fizzy negroni carbonato, served in a bottle from Wallflower's Xavier Herit, and the negroni sorbetto at Eataly. A portion of sales from every location will go to a select charity. 10th Annual Taste of Long Island City, The Chocolate Factory, 5-49 49th Avenue, Queens, Tuesday, 4:30 p.m.
A selection of LIC restaurants including M. Wells and Manducatis will be on hand to show off the best of their neighborhood during this annual celebration. As for drink, local breweries such as SingleCut will be on hand to cool customers off. Tickets, starting at $80, are available at the door and include unlimited bites, drinks, and access to an after-party. More info on participating businesses and events scheduled is available here.
Mixed Company with Marc Forgione, Extra Fancy, 302 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, Wednesday, 9 p.m.
Several members of the Marc Forgione team — including the chef himself — are playing the role of guest bartender this week. Focusing on mezcal cocktails, the guest drink-slingers will be joined by spirit enthusiast Steve Olson, who will help guide attendees on tasting notes. The restaurant will also have its full menu available, as well as live music to help enthusiastic patrons work their way through an entire selection of diverse mezcals.

Relive your Willy Wonka fantasy with chocolate whiskey cocktails and Island Creek oysters at this fundraiser supporting the Newport folk and jazz festivals. Additionally, chef Chris Fischer, formerly of Babbo, will prepare a selection of dishes inspired by his family farm on Martha's Vineyard. Admission is $45; secure your ticket here.
Free Doughnuts, The Tuscan Gun, 199 Windsor Place, Brooklyn, Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Need a quick bite before heading out of town for the weekend? Husband-and-wife chef Gabriele Corcos and actress Debi Mazar are offering free Lavazza coffee and homemade chocolate-coffee donuts for National Doughnut Day. Both owners will be on hand to meet and greet guests at their newly opened cafe.
