Chick-fil-A Will Stop Being Jerks and "Treat Every Person Equally, Regardless of Sexual Orientation"
Chick-fil-A has finally caved. The company said that it will "treat every person equally, regardless of sexual orientation." The comments came via the Civil Rights Agenda in Chicago. The lobby group also reported that Chick-fil-A has pledged to stop giving money to anti-gay groups and to refrain from social or political debates.
However, as with these controversies, not everyone is satisfied. While others have praised them for the changes, the company has touched on a firestorm on its own Facebook page by people accusing them of caving in.
From their Facebook page:
I'm really disappointed in Chick-fil-A's decision to remove themselves from the social debate. This is now not a matter of what you believe, but you gave into the pressure of the world. Shame on you. Your consecutive years of growth and profit may now come to an end. -- Cory Thorpe
I am speechless at the recent events concerning your company caving in to pressure from the LGBT group -- is Chicago really worth doing this? You have totally lost our business and insulted all the families who supported you last month and waited in line for hours to show you our support of your stand on family and traditional marriage. God will surely remove His hand from blessing your company in light of your new stance. It's a sad day. My heart hurts that a company I could support gladly and frequented as often as possible would do this - you had to expect this to happen. -- Bonnie Bailey-Self
