Coney Island Brewing Company Returns for the Summer Season
Shmaltz Brewing Company is launching the second official season of Coney Island Brewing Company -- a/k/a the World's Smallest Brewery -- located, yep, in the heart of Coney Island. Last summer saw the launch of the brewery, which produces a whopping one gallon of beer per batch. For the upcoming reopening in May, Shmaltz, along with special guest brewers, will craft three beers each week to be bottled and sold.
Recent batches included a Pumpernickel Bagel Porter, a Red, White, and Blueberry Hefeweizen, and a Caramel Apple Ale, though you'll have to wait until warmer weather to know what's in store for this year.
Coney Island Brewing Company will be open for business from May through Labor Day weekend, with the likely extension until Halloween, and will operate Thursday to Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The brewery is located at 3008 West 12th Street in Brooklyn, next to the Coney Island Circus Sideshow and Museum. Time to get your freak on ... and your drink, too.
