Miami's El Mago de Las Fritas is packing its bags and headed to Brooklyn to introduce New Yorkers to Cuban-style burgers. The sandwich - a spicy beef and chorizo patty, topped with onions and julienned potatoes and served on Cuban bread - is a must-have when visiting "The Magic City." The special menu includes the traditional version as well as those topped with a fried egg, manchego cheese, as well as burgers made with chicken.

Brooklyn Cloth's Annual Summer Kick Off, Brooklyn Cloth, 560 Grand Street, Brooklyn, 4 p.m.

For those in need of a good backyard gathering, Brooklyn Cloth is hosting a barbecue with free beer and hot dogs. The shop is also offering screen printing and showcasing the work of local artists.

The Taste of Jewish Culture Street Fair, Sixth Avenue and 46 Street, Sunday, 10 a.m.

A selection of New York restaurants including Baz Bagel, Mile End, and Oddfellows Ice Cream Co. are hitting the streets for a celebration of Jewish culture, great eats, and loving life in NYC. Other traditional bites include pickles and knishes, with activities ranging from traditional klezmer music to book signings from writers Leah Koening (Modern Jewish Cooking: Recipes & Customs for Today’s Kitchen) and Jordan Schaps (co-author of Eating Delancey: A Celebration of Jewish Food).

Bierleichen Official Grand Opening Party, Bierleichen, 582 Seneca Ave, Queens, Sunday, 2 p.m.

To celebrate its official opening, this Ridgewood-based beer and heavy metal bar is throwing a Sunday afternoon bash. Baltimore-style pit beef, tarot card readings, and drink specials will be on hand. There's also a portrait artist onsite — though you may want to visit her before your first drink —and the beer hall has a full menu of pretzels, brats, and sauerbraten. To drink, the bar will have plenty of both German and American craft brews, as well as very German drink combinations like schnapps and sparkling lemonade.
