David Bouhadana Has Left Sushi Uo
David Bouhadana says sayonara to Sushi Uo.
Casey Kelbaugh for the New York Times
Well, you can't say he didn't warn us: Less than three months after telling Fork in the Road that he didn't plan to stick around for long, Sushi Uo's David Bouhadana has left the kitchen. Eater reports that the 23-year-old chef has parted ways with the Lower East Side restaurant, which opened four months ago. No word on the reason for Bouhadana's departure; perhaps he's gone back to Japan to study with his sushi master, as he had hinted to us he would. His replacement trained at 15 East, a restaurant Bouhadana professed to "highly respect."
