Dear New York Plums, You're Amazing
A few sweet plums from Flying Fox
These wee, dusky plums turned out to be my haul of the week. I put a few in the freezer for baking later in the summer, but have been eating the rest right out of a bowl on the table. I love their super-acidic skins, that slip right off the sweet, almost creamy fruit. If you see them at the market, get as many as you can carry. You can figure out what to do with them later!
And if you're eating them over the next couple of days, don't put them into a coma in the fridge, despite what the much-loved, much-spoofed, "This Is Just to Say" poem by William Carlos Williams suggests.
