Dept. of Inanity: Butter Lane Closed Till Thursday Due to Folding Table Violation
Cupcake freaks would do well to stay away from East 7th Street until Thursday, when Butter Lane will be allowed to reopen following a permitting violation. Per EV Grieve, the city shut down the unassuming cupcake shop for having a folding table and chairs in front of the shop. Given that the city tried to can a food vendor for going on a bathroom break and wants to do the same to food trucks that have more than three parking tickets, this shouldn't be particularly shocking, but still, the Bloomberg administration's support of small businesses is certainly a sight to behold.
