Falansai Opened in Bushwick; Beekman Beer Garden Reopened
Bratwurst at Beekman Beer Garden
Beekman Beer Garden, the beloved outdoor bar near South Street Seaport, was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy in October. But the summertime hot spot reopened on Saturday, Gothamist learned, and has been serving bratwursts and brews. The bar's Twitter account has been posting sun-soaked pictures all weekend. 89 South St.; 212-896-4600
Tiengarden, the Lower East Side vegan restaurant that closed for renovations in December, recently reopened, Bowery Boogie reported. The spot on Allen Street was rebuilt completely and now has a glass storefront with window seating. The new incarnation is cash only. 170 Allen St.; 212-388-1364
Last week Henry Trieu opened Falansai, a French and Vietnamese restaurant in Bushwick. The menu features traditional Vietnamese dishes like pho, green papaya salad, and "Dad's shrimp rolls." French ingredients make appearances on the menu too, an homage to Trieu's father's experience of the French colonization of Vietnam. 112 Harrison Pl., Brooklyn; 347-599-1190
