Fancy Food Feeding Unfancy People

Chef Eric Ripert has announced that he'll be donating $1 per Le Benardin diner and per copy of his book, On the Line, to City Harvest. "We are feeding fairly wealthy people here at Le Bernardin. It's a good feeling that we can give what we can to City Harvest, too. This is very important to me," says Ripert, who estimates that donations will total $100,000.

Photographer Jan Bartelsman has compiled food porn money shots from the likes of Per Se and Gramery Tavern for a new book called Dining in New York City. The book will cost you $19.95; tickets to the general tasting celebrating its release on January 21 will cost you $250. All proceeds will benefit Citymeals on Wheels. To purchase tickets, go here.
