Oops, indeed. The Australian arm of Penguin publishing was forced to swallow the cost of re-printing its Pasta Bible last week when a particularly unfortunate typo was spotted. Instead of pepper, a recipe for spelt tagliatelle with sardines and prosciutto called for "salt and freshly ground black people."

The Daily News reports that the cost of reprinting 7,000 copies came to $18,000.

"We've said to bookstores that if anyone is small minded enough to complain about this very... silly mistake then we will happily replace [the book] for them," said Bob Sessions, head of publishing at Penguin Australia.
