Goodbye Falafel, Hello Fries: Chipsy to Open on MacDougal This Summer
For those lamenting the loss of the Hummus Place at 99 MacDougal Street, don't fret too much (after all, you do have another location close by on Seventh Avenue South). Chipsy is set to open in the space formerly occupied by Hummus Place.
And what is Chipsy? A Google search doesn't reveal much (save for the knowledge that Chipsy is an unrelated brand of chips sold in Egypt), and our email to the address listed on the plywood went unanswered, but as far as we can tell (judging from the logo and name), the space appears to be a fries shop.
Fries might not be quite a falafel substitute, but hey -- they're both fried and tasty!
