Gourmet Dead and in the Ground, But Conde Nast Still Wants You to Subscribe!
Funny how Conde Nast was so hopped up to get the Gourmet employees up and out the door in 48 hours, even hustling out the last accountants as they were trying to write checks for outstanding freelance invoices, yet they're still flogging Gourmet subscriptions on their websites like Epicurious.
Meanwhile, like a ghost ship, the Gourmet website sails on, with no hint of the corpses littering the deck. Eerily, the site is still accepting comments by enthusiastic readers who don't seem to know the plug has been pulled.
