Greene Grape Annex to Remedy Fort Greene's Tragic Blue Bottle Shortage
Three years after bringing fancy groceries to Fulton Street, the folks behind Greene Grape Provisions (and the Greene Grape wine shop) are turning their attention to coffee.
And not just any coffee: As Grub Street reports, when the new Greene Grape coffee shop, called Greene Grape Annex, opens next month, it will get its beans from Blue Bottle. In addition to serving as a mecca for caffeine fiends, the shop, located across Fulton Street from Greene Grape Provisions, will cater to heartier appetites with prepared food made in the commercial kitchen behind Provisions.
Fort Greene, of course, got a strong shot of fancy coffee last year, when WTF Coffee Lab opened on Willoughby Street. Local geeks will undoubtedly rush to make comparisons, while harried commuters will probably just be grateful to be able to procure a cappuccino before dealing with the C line.
