Greenpoint Is Getting a Lobster Joint
Lobsters lurk behind the glass doors.
Although Greenpoint's Underground Lobster Pound is sadly defunct, the neighborhood will not be lacking in crustaceans for long.
A friend of FitR kindly sent us the above photo of the Lobster Joint, which is set to open later this month in the old Lamb & Jaffy space at 1073 Manhattan Avenue. New York Shitty got some more details on the place: It will serve lobster rolls, burgers, and liquor -- and, for the meat-averse, a veggie melt. Its interior features white-washed walls and what appears to be a lot of reclaimed wood. It's scheduled to open May 25, both for business and inevitable, exhaustive analysis of its meat-to-bun ratio, stance on celery salt, reliance on butter and/or mayo, and -- well, you know the drill.
