Guerrilla Ice Cream, Japanese Street Food, Cake Pops at the Hester Street Fair This Weekend
As was previously mentioned, this weekend's Hester Street Fair will feature socially conscious scoops from Guerrilla Ice Cream, a new cart that pays tribute to social movements around the world with frozen dairy. And joining Guerrilla this weekend will be two new vendors.
Betty Pops will debut its cake pops, which it touts as "guilt-free uber moist mini cake on a stick." So far, they've got four flavors: s'mores, strawberry, green tea, and the ubiquitous red velvet.
Not quite as ubiquitous to New York is Japanese street food, which is what Nijiya Market will be selling. Expect taiyaki, Japanese fish-shaped cakes that will have fillings like red bean, custard, and chocolate, as well as tofu doughnuts and made-to-order hand rolls.
Also, the greenmarket will return on Sunday.
