Happy Hour at Housing Works: Buckets of Brooklyn Beer for $18

Drink for the good.
Drink for the good.

What better reason can you have for drinking on a Friday afternoon than helping those in need? Housing Works Used Bookstore Café does more than just assist homeless New Yorkers living with HIV and AIDS. It also throws a pretty mean happy hour.

Friday Happy Hour, from 4 to 8 p.m., features buckets of Brooklyn Brewery beer -- literally, a bucket of five bottles -- for $18; buckets of PBR for $12, bottles of wine for $15, and a grilled cheese and beer for $8. In addition to these discounted sips and bites, you'll be entertained with board games, as well as all the books you can peruse in a four-hour span. Don't worry if you're having so much fun you forget you're contributing to a charity: That's kinda the idea.
