Help Send Zucco Back to France
The late and lamented Zucco
Last Saturday, Zucco, the owner of the eponymous Le French Diner on Orchard Street, died tragically of a heart attack in his restaurant. Now, his friends are rallying to raise enough money for medical expenses and to fly Zucco back to his native France, where he will be buried next to his mother. They're holding a fundraiser this Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 200 Orchard, where local DJs will be spinning. In the meantime, there is some good news: Grub Street reports that the restaurant will remain open under the auspices of Zucco's business partner, Max Fraser.
