Here's What the Free Food Looks Like Inside #PepCity, the New York Microcosm in Bryant Park

Super Bowl activities start in earnest today with the unveiling of #PepCity (Bryant Park, 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue), the Pepsi-sponsored three-day party in Bryant Park. Per Pepsi staffers, the event is a thank you to the Big Apple for hosting the Super Bowl, and so all of the activities -- concerts, art, food -- are free. They're also meant to channel NYC.
We care mostly about the food part of this whole thing; from 2 until 6:30 p.m. today, tomorrow, and Saturday, Marc Forgione, David Burke, and Michael Psilakis will dole out free tastes of dishes made with Pepsi products (think Dorito-infused Gravlax and Mountain Dew bacon).
We're betting you're probably making a concerted effort to steer clear of this area of town this week -- unless, of course, you have tourists in town, and they're insisting. If you do find yourself inside the tent (the food is free, after all), we'd hit Marc Forgione's stand for the lamb vadouvan curry and gravlax, Kefi for the yogurt parfait, and David Burke's outlet for the vanilla and chocolate latte. Those tastes were the standouts for us.
Take a look at what to expect or satisfy your curiosity via our photos:
Mountain Dew bacon tacos
Lamb vadouvan curry
Apricot, Quaker oat, and almond parfait
Cool Ranch Dorito gravlax and everything gougeres
