In Celebration of Cinco de Mayo, Eater.com Hosts Pop-Up Taqueria This Afternoon & Evening [Updated, With Photos]
The Little Owl event space lies just south of West 12th Street at 95 Greenwich Avenue.
This afternoon and evening -- until 9 p.m. -- Eater.com will be hosting a pop-up taqueria in the Little Owl event space, "The Venue." $10 gets you three tacos and a beer or soft drink. Add $5 and a margarita is yours. Hey, somebody, please start a website devoted entirely to pop-ups -- the restaurants without worries.
A mariachi band greeted guests upon arrival, with all the usual subway hits, including "La Bamba."
The well-dressed tacos were exceptional, from upper right clockwise: carne asada, fish, mushrooms. The $10 door charge included three of your choice, and a Mexican beer.
The Eater live-blogging crew was hard at work all afternoon.
