Incredibly Cheap Eats--El Castillo de Jagua
At $8 for an order of roast pork, you might say, "Hey! I have had cheaper!" But the heaping pile of tender meat including several glistening crunchy skin-on pieces, can easily feed two. In fact, I got three meals out of mine. The free sides of crazy-buttery yellow rice and black beans are just as plentiful. Tuesdays and Saturdays feature sopa de mondongo, a well seasoned version of the heartwarming beef tripe soup found around the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Big chunks of potato, yummy little slivers of soft cow tummy--$3.50 for a small and $6 for a meal-sized tub.
