Joseph Leonard to Get a Younger Sibling
The Joseph Leonard clan will soon number two.
In the almost seven months it's been open, Joseph Leonard has won plenty of fans with its interpretations of French bistro classics, so it's not entirely surprising that owner Gabriel Stulman is already plotting his next act. Feast reports that Stulman is going to open a luncheonette and oyster bar directly across the street from his first restaurant. It might include a market space despite -- as Feast notes -- the failure of a similar venture at Market Table, where Stulman was once a partial owner. Joseph Leonard's current sous-chef will lead the project (though Chef Jim McDuffee will also be involved), which Stulman is hoping to open in September.
