Karen's on Astor is Closed
Eater reports that Karen's on Astor has closed after 13 years of serving up soups, salads, sandwiches and smoothies. Sure, the place was a little pricey, but it was the only restaurant in the vicinity where you could pick up a container of roasted Brussels sprouts or beet salad for a quick, healthy lunch. It was vegetarian and vegan friendly, and some of the food, like the curried chicken salad with apples, seemed to harken back to the '70s.
Owner Karen Slater addressed the closing on her website. Click through to read her note.
