Jesus H. Christ: Mark Iacono, the owner of Lucali, is in critical condition after being stabbed earlier this afternoon. The New York Daily News reports that Iacono was walking on Smith Street near Carroll Street, a couple of blocks away from his pizzeria, when he was attacked by a man who jumped out of a van and began slashing him. According to the Post, police have arrested a man who later showed up at a nearby hospital with a knife wound to his hand. Iacono is currently in stable condition at Lutheran Hospital; we wish him the best for a speedy recovery.
