Martha Stewart Gets English Accent
Stewart hopes to invade England as successfully as the Normans did.
"Martha Stewart, cupcake queen of America, set to invade the UK," trumpets yesterday's copy of the English newspaper The Independent.
Yes, our domestic diva is set to go head-to-head with England's own terribly luscious Nigella Lawson when she launches a British version of Living, her flagship magazine, next month. And that's not all: "Her plans for the UK include four magazines that will dish out advice on everything from recipes to weddings; a kitchen-full of Martha Stewart-licensed products; and her own television show," reports The Independent, which blithely notes that the one thing standing in Martha's way as she ascends to worldwide brand domination is that pesky, pesky visa -- denied to her two years ago when she tried to enter the country. Apparently Stewart plans to visit "within the next six months," so stay tuned.
