Mathieu Palombino's Steakhouse Turns Out to Be a Diner
Never mind the steakhouse: It seems that Mathieu Palombino will instead open a "mid-century American diner" on the Bowery.
Diner's Journal reports that the Motorino man is planning to open the restaurant, called Bowery Diner, in the late spring. It will be outfitted with booths and a counter, and serve doughnuts, coffee, sandwiches, and other edible hallmarks of bygone Americana, retooled for New Museum visitors.
