It looks like the Lower East Side will lose another one of its most beloved bars. Max Fish declared in an online petition that it will move to 132 Metropolitan Ave. in Brooklyn, and the bar is seeking a liquor license for the address. Max Fish has been a fixture of drunken nights on Ludlow Street since 1989 and has had its fair share of near-closures. See the full petition after the jump.
The Lower East Side institution and cultural icon Max Fish will be moving. We are seeking a 2pm - 4am liquor license for the following address: 132 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11211
If you've enjoyed time at The Fish please sign and share this petition. And if you live or know anyone that lives within 500 Feet of either 132 Metropolitan Ave or 99 North 1st St in Brooklyn, please contact me directly at: email@example.com.
Thanks for your support.
This is another huge loss for Ludlow Street, which said goodbye to Pony Bar and Motor City Bar earlier this year. Famed music lounge The Living Room has been able to stay on the block, but only after a few lease extensions.
Stay tuned for more updates.
